Korova 1:1 CBD/THC Cannabis Infused Vanilla Bean Cookies Review

Korova’s line of cannabis infused cookies are some of the best edibles on the market. Their excellent taste, use of real ingredients in their products and consistent potency have all made them a very popular edible treat. The CBD/THC 1:1 Vanilla Bean cookies bring a balanced CBD + THC formula to Korova’s line.

Korova Cannabis Infused mini cookies 1:1 CBD/THC Vanilla Bean flavor bag

Each cookie provides 10mg of CBD and 10mg of THC. Each package contains 10 cookies, each one coming in at 45 calories. Like other Korova cookies, these use simple ingredients like flour, sugar, butter, eggs, baking powder, salt, vanilla bean paste and a few others. No artificial colors or flavors are used. These are made with Hybrid Cannabis extract and contain dairy and gluten.

Taste

Like other of the cookie edibles in the Korova line, they smell and taste great, like a good quality crunchy cookie. It is primarily a crumbly butter cookie with a solid vanilla bean taste. I hardly was able to taste the cannabis extract, which for folks who don’t like that taste is a big positive. Even the aftertaste was butter cookie, not cannabis oil.

People are fans of Korova since they produce a good tasting product with consistent effect and keep the ingredients simple.

Effects

As always with a new edible – even from a familiar brand – it’s important to start with half a usual dose. My usual dose is 10mg of THC, so I started with half of one cookie so I could judge how the 5mg each of THC & CBD in this product reacts with my system. I usually feel very little with a 5mg THC dose and when it is one to one THC to CBD, the CBD usually dampens the THC effect for me. I found the effects of half a dose to be mild enough that I was able to trust trying a full dose without fear of overdosing.

My experience is that taking 10mg of THC by itself or taking 10mg of CBD of itself in an edible is much different than taking a combined 10mg THC & 10mg CBD together. The CBD reduces the impact of the THC for me, so I have much less psychoactive effects. At the same time, the THC actually increases the effects of the CBD. If I have aches and pains and take 10mg of CBD with no THC, I don’t get much relief. If I take something with a good amount of THC – no less than 2.5mg of THC to 10mg of CBD – I get much greater pain relief.

Korova Cannabis Infused mini cookies 1:1 CBD/THC Vanilla Bean flavor bag and cookies

Within 60 minutes I started to feel the effects of a mild buzz and some pain relief. The buzz remained on the mild side. I felt a little relaxed but not a lot. I did not feel the uplift, energy or focus I normally get from a Sativa edible. These seem to have the effects of a balanced mild hybrid with a slight cerebral high and a mild relaxing body high. I tried these several times in the afternoon and they did not give me a strong head high or any significant body effect, just a slight stoned feeling.

The CBD effects were noticeable. My muscle aches were reduced, as was some pain from inflammation related to my budding arthritis. On a cold, damp day when I would usually start to feel aches, it reduced those aches to a low level. With the CBD pain impact and relaxing THC effects, the effects made for a very body-focused experience. It was similar to what you might feel from taking a warm, relaxing bath where your aches were soothed.

Beyond the stoned head and relaxed effects, I felt very little of the THC effects. The CBD effects were more noticeable. If you are okay with the slightly spacey, stoned effect that comes with the THC and boosts the pain management effects of the CBD, these could be a good product for you. I appreciate the relaxation and the pain relief very much for times when that is what I desire. For afternoon or evening use, I don’t mind the spacey, stoned feeling I experience. I likely would not use these in the morning or early afternoon unless it was on a do-nothing day as they reduce my energy and focus too much.

Great tasting cannabis edibles with solid CBD pain impact and a relaxed, mildly stoned THC effect.

OM Cannabis Infused Epsom Salts – Lavender and Arnica Pain Relief Review

OM’s Cannabis infused Epsom salts are infused with 25mg each of both THC and CBD in the 6.5 ounce package. The focus is on soothing aches and relaxation. Lavender helps calm the nervous system as well as aid in sleep and relaxation. Arnica aids in pain relief. Both arnica and lavender work synergistic with cannabis.

They also have products based on CBD in other formulations including fragrance free, lemon ginger, rose geranium, and an “athletic” formula.

Product

All of the ingredients are naturally occurring and contain moisturizing oils including apricot kernel, avocado, jojoba, and argan oil. The arnica product also contains lavender, camphor, and rosemary. The lavender contains vitamin E and aloe vera. This product is vegan friendly with no animal products or by-products like gelatin.

Dosing

OM recommends using the entire bag for the maximum effect. As with all edibles, tinctures, patches, creams, balms, and bath products, it is best to start with a small amount. Consider trying a quarter of a bag just to see if you notice any effect and to make sure you don’t have an adverse reaction, since some folks have sensitive skin. If you don’t have sensitive skin, you are likely safe to try half a package the first time. Like all topicals, since it is absorbed through the skin and not into the bloodstream, it doesn’t produce the psychoactive effects typically associated with THC.

I found very mild effects with a partial bag and the effects were more noticeable with a full bag.

Effects

I tried the lavender purely for relaxation with no expectation of pain relief. It was a pleasant fragrance and the oils provided a lot of moisturizing with the vitamin E and aloe vera. Very relaxing and set me up for a good nights sleep.

The arnica did have a more pronounced impact on sore muscles and aches. The full bag really provided an impact in relieving soreness and pain. The orange, lavender and rosemary oils gave it a pleasant sent without being too medicinal. I found it less effective treating joint pain or anything deeper than surface muscle and nerve pain. It’s hard for a topical to penetrate deep into joints from the skin even with a long soak.

OM’s line of epsom salts is a good choice to try if you are looking for a topical rich in natural oils that can address muscle or nerve pain. While it does not work on all types of pain, I found it relaxing and effective for treating minor aches and pains.

Cosmic View Lovely Day Cannabis-Infused Tincture Review

Cosmic View makes a variety of handcrafted botanical cannabis infused tinctures in varying formulas. Their Lovely Day formula provides 7.1mg of CBD and 8.2mg of THC, .6mg CBG, and .4 CBC in each dose. They are labeled with the specific strain used in the formulation, in this case Sapphire-Tsu and Hawaiian Fanta,

This cannabis-infused tincture is made with extra virgin olive oil, cannabis extract, cacao nibs, cinnamon, black pepper and cinnamon bark oil. Each of their formulas is designed for specific effects, such as this one is designed to be bliss boosting with CBD effects such as helping with inflammation. Designed to lift your spirits with a functional high. Zero alcohol, zero carbs, vegan, gluten-free and sugar free.

Packaging

Lovely Day, like most of the Cosmic View tinctures, comes in a standard sized glass bottle with a child-proof lid opening mechanism. Similar to some prescription bottles, you have to push the cap down to open it. It could be difficult for folks with limited hand movement to open the cap, but I didn’t find it too difficult

The lid contains a dropper, with graduated indications for 0.5 and 1.0 mg. It can be a challenge to fill up the dropper with a full dose of 1mg, so I find it easier to use the 0.5 mark to measure out a dose. As with all cannabis infused products you ingest, always try half of your usual dose first. Each product reacts differently to our unique body chemistry.

Dosing & Taste

I first tried half of a dose – 0.5mg – from the dropper, under my tongue. The packaging suggests that you try 1/4 dropper first to gauge effects – always good advice to start low and slow.

I first tried half dose, containing around 3.5mg of CBD and 4mg of THC on a half-full stomach in the afternoon and I could start to feel the effects within half an hour. It was a very mid, relaxed feeling with some uplift but no dramatic effects. The effects lasted a few hours and indicated a full dose would be appropriate to try.

The tincture has a cinnamon-pepper-cocoa flavor with a slight cannabis taste, so I was fine not to cover up the flavor with anything. I actually love the flavor as I’m a fan of cinnamon in general, as well as pepper and cacao.

Effects

These tinctures are specially formulated to be terpene-rich, using specific chemicals that occur in cannabis to tailor the effects of the tincture. When combined with other ingredients that have similar chemical properties, in this case with the pepper, cinnamon and cacao it creates a more tailored effect than you get with products made with a mix of random hybrid strains.

After my initial test dose indicated that the effects were mild for me, I tried a full dose, 7.1mg of CBD and 8.2mg of THC. My average dose for edibles is 10mg of THC, so I didn’t expect much of the THC effects I get with a higher THC dose. I also aim for about 10mg of CBD when I’m looking for pain relief or other CBD effects. I always want a CBD product with THC, as the two compounds complement each other. I get much more relief from CBD when it is combined with THC, like the 1:1 in Cosmic View.

Initial effects for me were relaxation and uplift at the same time. Occasionally the uplift wandered into spacey territory, but it was mild and not a heavy “spaced out” feeling. The energy boosting impact was tempered with the body relaxation for a nice chill experience without being too heavy.

I experienced a good solid body effect, like I would expect from a strain that is good for relaxing the body without drowsiness. I did experience a slight increase in my senses as I have with some edibles and tinctures. A slight uplift in mood was a pleasant addition to the anti-inflammation and calming CBD effects.

I found one full dose was perfect for a noticeable, relaxing effect that was very functional. For those days when I am especially stressed or want a stronger impact, I’m okay with adding another quarter or half a dose to increase the effect, now that I know what is a solid dose for me.

I like that Cosmic View tincture provides solid relaxation without strongly sedating me. I can be functional even if I’m not especially feeling energetic, and I could kick back on the couch or talk a walk if I felt like going that way too.

Cosmic View tincture is most appropriate for times when you want a mood lift without feeling edgy or caffeinated. If you are feeling anxious or stressed or simply want to boost your mood. I found it perfect for providing uplift while keeping a relaxed yet functional feeling.

Kikoko Cannabis Infused Organic Teas Review

Kikiko has a line of four tasty teas that deliver various combinations of THC, CBD and CBN. Each one is formulated to deliver specific effects, as their names indicate: Tranquili-Tea, Positivi-Tea, Sympa-Tea and Sensuali-Tea.

Kikoko TeaTranquili-Tea is for relaxing and to help  you sleep, with 5mg of CBN and 3mg of THC. Positivi-Tea is for mood lifting and pain relieving effects with 10mg THC and 5 mg CBD. Sympa-Tea is for pain management and anxiety relief with 3mg of THC and 20mg of CBD. Sensuali-Tea is described as being “for passion and play” on the website, with 7mg of THC.

Kikoko uses organic ingredients and high quality cannabis in their products, so they are a premium product. This creates a price point per dose that is higher than the average edible or beverage. I am frugal so I usually re-use the teabag once. The label clearly says that there is no increase in potency after one minute and that these are single use teabags, but they have enough good flavors that they make a nice second cup of tea even if it doesn’t deliver any cannabis effects.

Tranquili-Tea

Tranquili Tea Kikoko

The Tranquili-Tea works very well. About 45 minutes after a cup in the evening I start to feel very relaxed, after an hour I usually feel like heading to bed. I am able to fall asleep easily and stay asleep. If I do get up it is not hard to get back to sleep. I sometimes feel a little something different in the morning, but too slight to call it a hangover, let’s call it a fuzziness that dissipates quickly. I especially love the tastes of peppermint, camomile, lemon myrtle and licorice root that come across without a medicinal taste. I had a friend who has gone through cans and cans of these as he has trouble sleeping and they work like a charm for him.

I’m a tea drinker and really like the taste of Tranquli-Tea. It’s THC dose is low, but you definitely feel the calming effects of the Indica cannabis. I would surely recommend their use as part of an evening wind down or anti-anxiety routine.

Positivi-Tea

Positivi-Tea Kikoko

Positivi-Tea has the most THC of any of the Kikoko teas at 10mg. Due to that dosage, this tea has the strongest THC flavor of any of the teas we have tried. It is still barely noticeable and does not make the tea taste bad or medicinal. You have to like mint flavors if you want to like this tea as it has both peppermint and spearmint in it. Some folks are not a fan of peppermint, so this is not a taste they might like. I have fond memories of having tried teas in Amsterdam, so I was excited to try this.

While I usually take some caffeine with our edibles, the green tea in this product provides a good amount of caffeine to help boost the effect. Instead of having an edible with breakfast, I had this tea along with a medium sized breakfast. I started to feel the effects in a mild way in about an hour, which is longer than usual. Everyone is different and reacts differently to different products. Be aware that these may take longer to have the effects felt than other edibles or “drinkables”, so be patient when waiting for the effects.

After two hours I was only feeling a mild effect, what I usually expect from a 10mg THC dose when it is paired with CBD, because for me CBD reduces the impact of THC. The effect was noticeable, just weak. So many things effect how we respond on different days like the type and amount of food in our system. Whatever the reason, after two hours I felt I wanted a stronger effect so I augmented the tea with Mary’s Medicinals THC Transdermal Pen for a boost. The boost helped temporarily but soon I was back to only a mild effect. My experience is that this product is good for people who want a mild effect from a 10mg dose. It isn’t strong enough for me to use without boosting it with something else, or making a tronger batch.

Have not tried the Sensuali-tea, but the Sympa-tea has the pain relief you expect from a CBD dose.

These are one of the more expensive cannabis edibles per 10g dose that are available. For our chart of comparing your cost per 10mg THC dose, see our COst Per Dose post.

Kikoko’s teas are an excellent, high quality and unique way to elevate. Great flavor profiles and good strength make this a solid choice, especially when you want to treat yourself or those you love.

Artet Cannabis-Infused Mixed Drink Review

Artet is a cannabis-infused mixed drink. They make a “Cannabis Aperitif” as well as two flavors of mixed drink, which is what this review covers. This product is manufactured by Spacestation, the manufacturers of other infused beverages, including the Cann and Wünder line of products and infused by Vertosa. Artet is billed as a “Cannabis Beverages Crafted for Cocktail Moments”. Each Artet can is filled with 8 ounces of a 1:1 THC and CBD mix and has 5mg of CBD and 5mg of THC. They are sold as singles and also come in a four-pack.

Artet “is a blend of cannabis and botanicals that work in harmony to make Artet as fun as it is functional”. They have a variety of cocktail recipes on their website, link at the end of this review. The can is a single serving that you pop open and pull the tab back to reveal the opening for drinking or pouring.

Artet Cannabis Infused Mixed Drink Rosemary Jane flavor eight ounces next to cocktail glass with rosemary stem and grapefruit slice

As with all edibles and drinkables, it’s important to try new products at half of your usual dose the first time, until you know how strong the effects are for you. Since my usual dose of THC is 10mg and up to 15mg for CBD, I tried one can to judge the effects of half my usual dose. In my experience, CBD reduces the impact of THC, so if I consume a 1:1 blend of CBD and THC, I can sometimes take more than my usual dose, but not always.

If you aren’t sure of your tolerance or usual dose, try half a can then wait an hour or more to judge the effects and make sure you don’t take more than is enjoyable for you. That will give you 2.5mg of CBD and 2.5 mg of THC, which for some folks is plenty. If after time you don’t feel much or very little, you know you can try a full can and then judge that effect.

The ingredients are mostly plant based and seemed okay for vegetarians and vegans. The primary sweetener is cane sugar. Tet & Tonic flavor runs 35 calories the Rosemary Jane at 40 calories and they have 6 and 7 grams of sugar respectively.

Taste

We tried the “Tet & Tonic” and the “Rosemary Jane” flavors. There was a pleasant grapefruit smell from the Rosemary one and a lemony, slightly herbal smell form the other. These are delicate and complex flavors, so if that isn’t your thing these might not be for you. Don’t expect grape soda candy or infused alcohol kinds of flavors, these are more like a sweet wine or a sweet herbal tea infusion in terms of flavor.

The taste was delicate with the sweet citrus flavors dominating but with complexity from the herbal infusions of rosemary and chamomile. I expected them to be stronger on the herbal flavors, but they were not dominating, they harmonized well with the sweet of the sugar and the sour of the citrus. The ingredients lists plant-based ingredients but doesn’t say if all of the ingredients are plant based.

We saw no indication of any organic ingredients, so folks with concerns about pesticides or other chemicals commonly used on commercial plant ingredients might want to investigate that with the producer. From the ingredient list is does appear that no artificial colors are used.

Effects

I did begin to feel the effects within a half hour, with the reduction of any pain from inflammation I might be experiencing lessened, which I usually find with CBD. Being a liquid, there is less a bit less digesting to be done, so I usually find that cannabis infused beverages have a slightly faster onset for me than most edibles.

There is no indication of what strain(s) are used when extracting the THC, so it can be hard to judge what impact to expect. I found the effects slightly relaxing and it gave me a slightly stoned feeling mentally. I always prefer to know what strain was used or if it is a sativa, indica or hybrid, as that can tell me what impact I can expect.

I find CBD is much more effective on pain and discomfort when paired with THC, so I appreciate the 1:1 ratio of Artet “drinkables”. I don’t expect a CBD-focused product to give me the same elevated experience of a product that is purely or primarily THC. Expect the mild pain relief, relaxation and anti-inflammatory impacts that are typical for CBD. I was pleasantly surprised once I took my full dose of 10mg THC and 10mg CBD to find the relaxing effects quite potent, similar to having a few beers. The physical relaxation comes with some mental relaxation too. As mentioned above, try a new edible or drinkable several times at lower than your normal dose, then build up your usual dose, before even thinking of taking more than a standard dose. Start low and go slow.

Artet Cannabis Infused Mixed Drinks Rosemary Jane and Tet & Tonic flavor eight ounce cans

Wrap Up

The effects were a little stronger than I might have expected from a 1:1 CBD + THC edible or drinkable at the 10mg dose. Once I had tried them, two 5mg doses were just perfect to provide a few hours of relaxation, ideal for a virtual cocktail hour.

At my dispensary, a single serving size is priced at $6.00 plus tax with the four-pack priced at $20 plus tax, bringing the price down to $5.00 per dose before tax. If you look at our Cost Per 10mg Dose comparison, this is on the more expensive end of options, as it works out to either $10 or $12 per 10mg dose.

I could see this as part of my regular set of options when I want a special cannabis infused “cocktail” with the relaxing effects of CBD. For those who like refined flavors, enjoy cocktails and who like the effects, this is a fine addition to the top shelf of a CBD edibles & drinkables collection.

Humboldt Apothecary Relax CBD Cannabis-Infused Tincture Review

Humboldt Apothecary makes a variety of tinctures in varying formulas. Their Relax CBD formula provides 6.3mg of CBD and 2.1mg of THC in each dose.

This cannabis-infused tincture is made with coconut oil and vitamin E, flavored with essential oils of lavender, basil, bergamot and sweet orange. Each of their formulas is designed for specific effects, such as sleep support and this one is designed to both relax and provide CBD effects such as helping with inflammation. Zero alcohol, zero carbs, vegan, gluten-free and sugar free.

Packaging

Relax CBD, like most of the Humboldt Apothecary tinctures, comes in a standard sized glass bottle with a child-proof lid opening mechanism. Similar to some prescription bottles, you have to push the cap down to open it. Since the cap is quite small, it can be difficult for folks with limited hand movement to open the cap. It takes some strength even if you don’t have had mobility issues. I would love to see a larger cap that is easier to grip for folks with arthritis or other movement restricting conditions

The lid conatins a dropper, with graduated indications for 0.5 and 1.0 mg. It can be a challange to fill up the dropper with a full dose of 1mg, so I find it easier to use the 0.5 mark to measure out a dose. As with all cannabis infused products you ingest, always try half of your usual dose first. Each product reacts differently to our unique body chemistry.

Dosing & Taste

I first tried half of a dose – 0.5mg – from the dropper, under my tongue. The packaging suggests that you can administer the tincture that way or in a favorite beverage or even in a recipe.

I first tried half dose, containing around 3.1mg CBD and 1mg THC on a half-full stomach in the afternoon and I could start to feel the effects within half an hour. It was a very mid, relaxed feeling with no dramatic effects. The effects lasted a few hours and indicated a full dose would be appropriate to try.

The tincture has a lavender-basil-bergamot flavor with a slight cannabis taste, so I was fine not to cover up the flavor with anything. I actually love the flavor as I’m a fan of lavender in general, including teas and baked goods.

Effects

These tinctures are specially formulated to be terpene-rich, using specific chemicals that occur in cannabis to tailor the effects of the tincture. When combined with other ingredients that have similar chemical properties, in this case with the lavender and basil, it creates a more tailored effect than you get with products made with a mix of random hybrid strains.

After my initial test dose indicated that the effects were mild for me, I tried a full dose, 6.3mg of CBD and 2.1mg of THC. I get much more relief from CBD when it is combined with THC at a low ration, like the 3:1 in Relax CBD.

Initial effects for me were relaxation and Indica-type effects of a very mild heavy head. I was concerned the effects would be the same as a depressant like alcohol at first. Then the heavy head went away and the relaxation stayed.

I experienced a good solid body effect, like I would expect from a strain that is good for relaxing the body without drowsiness. The head was not spacey or spaced out, I was able to make dinner without a problem.

I am especially sensitive to the Indica type of effects from some products that can make me feel dull headed or sleepy or even create couch-lock. I like that Relax CBD tincture provides solid relaxation without strongly sedating me. I can be functional even if I’m not especially feeling energetic, and I could kick back on the couch or be talked into a nap if I felt like going that way too.

Relax CBD tincture is most appropriate for times when you are feeling anxious or stressed or for that time of day when you want to relax and unwind. I found it perfect for calming down after watching the news, or for a relaxing dinner and a movie without couch lock or passing out.
